Pink Glove Care

When Mom says, “I don’t need help.”

You don’t have to win an argument to start a conversation.

Begin with what matters to her.

“What would make your week a little easier?” can open a different conversation from “You need a caregiver.” Listen to what she wants to keep doing herself.

Name one specific thing.

A meal. Laundry. Company while you’re at work. Talk about the task instead of making the whole conversation about losing independence.

Start with her week, not with the word caregiver.

Leave room for her concerns.

A new person in her home can feel like a big change. Ask what worries her. Privacy, routines, and choosing the person all deserve an answer.

Make the first step an introduction.

“We can meet someone together” is a smaller step than agreeing to a whole schedule. Let her ask questions and share how it felt afterward.

You can name your needs, too.

“I love being here with you. I also need help with the everyday so I can keep doing this.” Your needs belong in the conversation.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Tell us what’s becoming hard, and we’ll help you think through the next step.

Your request comes to Pink Glove Care—not a network of providers. We don’t sell your inquiry.

Let’s talk about care.
